PRE BOOKING ESSENTIAL FOR THE SKILL FOR LIFE COURSES.
THE COURSE The Skill for Life course and test are based on the driving system adopted by Police Response Driver Units. It uses the IAM handbook ˜How to be a Better Driver' as the main reference and course Members will receive a copy of this book at the first course session.
You are asked to ensure that You also have the latest copy of the ˜Highway Code' and ˜Know your Traffic Signs' as candidates will be expected to have a sound knowledge of traffic law.
THE 3 SEMINAR SESSIONS are held at the well equipped and easily accessible BAWA Centre in Filton. The sessions will start at 7.30pm and finish at 9.30pm and include coffee/tea. Police Officers and Group Trainers will give the lectures and you are advised to attend all three sessions to gain maximum benefit from the course.
EXPERIENCE DRIVES The first 'experience' drive will take place between seminars one and two and start from the BAWA Centre. This is your first opportunity to see the advanced principles of car control in practice with one of the Group's Qualified Observers.
